Further FLT Instructor Development (After initial training)

 Introduction

It has become noticeable, that upon successful conclusion of an Instructor Training Course, many recently qualified Instructors need further help to commence delivering Training Courses.

TTT ltd have identified three areas within which newly qualified instructors or their employers may benefit from further assistance.

  1. Delivery of Practical Courses
  1. Setting up and putting into place Course work and records
  1. Safe FLT working systems to ensure compliance with Legislation

What we can do to help

TTT ltd can offer an Instructor Development Programme aimed at recently qualified or existing FLT Instructors, enabling them to deliver FLT training, compliant with the requirements of the Approved Code of Practice (L117).

There is an indicial set up fee of £200 Which will give all the information required to successfully conduct FLT training at your site and will include any videos and individual training aids as required. As well as individual set up of In-House certificates and back up paperwork with manual record keeping that could be transferred to computer.

How it is done

  1. The opportunity for an Instructor to shadow one of our team over a relevant FLT course of 1,3 or 5 days duration. (This would be on-site).
  1. Attendance by the course tutor for the full duration of the 1st course on your site. Enhancing the varied elements undertaken on the course and assisting the company to ensure correct procedures are used and records are kept. At a cost of £175 per day.
  1. Training Package: containing:-

Ø All relevant course material, i.e. Test Sheets, Theory Papers. Training record sheets & Instructor/Company Guidance Notes.

Ø      PowerPoint presentations for Health & Safety.

Ø      Candidate course notes and course handout.

Instructor Qualities
A good Instructor will need to adopt an enthusiastic approach to every lesson, will thoroughly research the subject matter, simplify the difficult areas to be taught and set a good example by a confident attitude and a fair, firm, but friendly approach to the trainee operators and will always endeavour to see each problem through the eyes of the individual members of the course. This should be borne in mind when selecting potential instructors.

QUALITY
Our Course tutor is a very experienced industrial trainer who has successfully trained many new instructors to the standards required by ITSSAR and other accrediting bodies.

To gain the qualification the candidate must pass 8 examinations-

1,2+3 Knowledge examinations based on the course content.
4. Conduct  a classroom lesson

6. Conduct a practical lesson
7. Construct and conduct a practical test
8. Write an end of course report

These examinations are scheduled at various stages during the course and time is available for further practice and retakes if necessary.

All examinations are assessed by the course tutor and during the course the tutor will be monitored by an ITSSAR monitor to ensure the necessary standards are being met.

Entry Qualifications.
All candidates must be experienced operators and must hold an operators certificate issued by a registered Instructor within the twelve months preceding the course.
We are able to offer advice regarding the selection of suitable candidates and carry out the necessary pre course testing if required.

In House Courses

These courses are normally attended by prospective, or established in company instructors that will only be instructing for their sponsor company

Successful candidates from this course can instruct, examine and issue certification within their sponsor company sites only. The instructor certification remains with the sponsor company and once the instructor ceases employment he / she cannot continue as an instructor.  Any certification issued by the in company instructor, to employees, remains with the sponsor company and is not transferable if employees leave the sponsor company’s employ.

Certification is issued for 5 years and instructors must then attend a recognised re-registration course to continue training.

These courses would normally be undertaken at the company’s site encompassing the company’s equipment, operating environment, systems and policies. We are also able to offer these courses at a training centre if required.
